When you make a payment online or register as a user of MuniciPAY, we must collect information about you in order to process your payment or provide you your account information. The types of information we collect may include the following:

In the unlikely event that NPS is acquired, merchant account information may be one of the transferred assets.

We may also share statistical data with our business partners for public relations and marketing purposes. For example, we may disclose the percentage of customers who make payments with a credit card vs. checking account. This information will never be tied to any personally identifiable information.

MuniciPAY uses session cookies containing encrypted information to allow the system to uniquely identify you while you are logged in. This information allows MuniciPAY to process electronic payment transactions. Session cookies help us make sure you are who you say you are and are required in order to use MuniciPAY. Standing alone, cookies do not identify you personally. They merely recognize your browser and only exist during an online session. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser software or turn off your computer.

Information Security
NPS works to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software. We store information gathered on secure computers located in a locked data center that a limited number of our employees have access to. We use firewalls and other security technology to prevent our computers from being accessed by unauthorized persons. We also require that any personally identifiable consumer information sent to us by you be encrypted using SSL encryption.

NPS is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) as a Level 1 Service Provider. Security measures needed to pass this level of compliance include: physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards; sophisticated security monitoring tools; documented security policies; restricting access to confidential information and periodic security audits by third party security experts.
